I once visited the Millenium cave on the island Espiritu Santo in the country of Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean between New Zealand and Australia. At one point inside the cave, we turned off our flashlights and entered a world of darkness.

It was the darkest setting I had ever experienced. Completely black, total loss of sight. Instead of being scared, I had an overwhelming feeling of peace and tranquility that struck me. I haven't experienced anything like this moment again.
